TUFANGANJ CELEBRATES “RAKSHA BANDHAN” THROUGHOUT THE TOWN

Webdesk, TNI Tufanganj, 29th August, 2015: Along with the entire state Tufanganj also celebrated the fraternal Raksha Bandhan festival. Today the day was marked as “Sanskriti Dibos” by the Department of Youth Services, Government of West Bengal and based on the theme the Raksha Bandhan festival was celebrated in the community hall of Tufanganj Municipality. Various officials of the Department of youth services were present in the occasion. Apart from this dignitary present were Municipality Chairman Mr. Ananta Kumar Barman, Noted social activist Mr. Chan Mohan Saha and others.
On the other hand, the 1 No. Tufanganj Panchayat Samiti and Block Youth Festival Officer jointly celebrated the Raksha Bandhan Festival in front of Tufanganj 1 No. BDO Office. The people present in the ocassion were the Tufanganj 1 No. Panchayat Samiti Chairman Mr. Jagdish Barman, BDO Mr. Raju Lama, Joint BDO Dalki Lama and others. The BDO Mr. Raju Lama said in this occasion “We are celebrating the Raksha Bandhan today along with Sanksriti Dibos. World Poet Rabindranath Tagore once organized this festival in Bengal to stop the division of Bengal so that the differences between human beings are gone”. Tufanganj Press club also celebrated the festival by tying Rakhi to all the press personnel of Tufanganj.
